I am Ole Tingfinder (i.e. "thing finder") and has spent spent about thirty years in the trade first doing volunteer work in shops and flea markets. I developed an interest in the variety of second-hand goods, in 1988 participating in setting up the first full-time shop in Århus specializing in so-called "trendy" items. Limiting the buying was hard so the shop moved to a 1200 sq. m. warehouse, doing business there from 1994, the shop closed 1997. A few hundred of the thousands of items from the warehouse can be seen at the website in Danish.

I focus my present efforts on building this website to eventually be a help and joy to everyone looking for information on design, in particular Danish and Scandinavian design. In connection with that, I will collect and sell items to make a living.

I want the stock to be a treat for all the senses including the good taste - and the bad. These standards may change over time and vary from area to area, from person to person. Some things please the eye, some heighten the mood, some even lets one forget the actual time and space allowing the mind to relax and expand.

I want to be able to meet as many different desires as possible whether you want to find a single piece or collect an entire lay-out in a certain style for a home, shop, restaurant, an office, whatever.

I believe that any decade of the 20th century, any material and any country can be the origin of worthwhile design. Good items can show the essence of a materials qualities or take them to their limits. They might display the skill, patience and ingenuity of designers and manufacturers. They can sum up the idiom of a certain age, area or person.

I look for things that have one or more of those characteristics. About thirty years in the trade have taught me both mainstream and off-beat ways of purchasing.

I look forward to learn what you expect (me) to find.

I have some advantages and because of that some limitations:

- I would like to share with everybody the joy of the variety
of possibilities provided by 20th century inventors,
  designers and manufacturers
- I do not just play it safe when it comes to buying, but like
to buy things on a hunch, too - why get bored/boring?
- I put up everything for sale at the website
so it is not possible to book anything in advance
- I am a full-time professional, so you will
always be dealing with the one in charge of everything
- I spent as much time as possible hunting for objects so I
do not offer any opening hours
- I do not rely on thirty years trade experience but
  go on learning and listening
